“He is going to break my heart. And I will let him.”

I have never really understood the human heart; it is selfish and it is kind. It can be broken… yet it still works.

But the thing that puzzles me most, is that our heart’s the only organ in our body that is willing to bear so much pain…so graciously. I mean, that’s probably one of the reasons why we do stupid stuff in life, even though our brain tells us “NO”. Right?

Well, when I was 13, I saw a different side of love…

“I love you. You Smell Nice”

When I was barely fourteen, my first weird encounter with a boy convinced me that men were from another planet. You see, I didn’t even know the guy. But in the midst of playing Battleship with the other kids, he walked up behind me. He whispered that he liked me.

And then he sniffed me.

There are three ways a relationship can turn out:

  1. At the end of the day, you are undeniably happy at where you stand—with (or without) your partner.
  2. You surprise yourself that you even managed to stay this long in your relationship. The time that you’ve invested turned out to be a waste. In short, you are unhappy and full of regret (the latter is debatable).
  3. You relationship didn’t last long enough to reach a conclusion.

There are a lot of things you shouldn’t be doing outside your relationship. A lot of morally unforgivable things. But…what if some of them were scientifically and psychologically proven to be good for you? When it comes to most relationships, flirting is a big no-no. It is, as some might call it, the gateway to how innocent fun turns into something much more complicated and steamy.

There are plenty of things to do in the summer; mow your lawn, get a summer job, go camping, work out, have a summer fling…

You get the idea. But as exciting as all that sounds, we know that things don’t always go our way. In fact, they turn out quite differently, because the expectations of enjoying a great summer has always been set one bar higher than reality.

What Colour is Love?

“It is possible to fall in love with someone of a different race, different culture and different faith. The reality is we do not choose who we’re attracted to or fall in love with. That’s why it’s called “falling”, no rational human being with common sense “falls” knowing he or she might be hurt by the fall.” – Dr. Yangki Christine Akiteng

New York City.

It wasn’t too far from where I lived. And it was only $900 for a round trip without stopping. If I left on Thursday evening, I could reach JFK International Airport slightly after midnight.

So why not?

What Type of Asian Are You?

The ‘Family Tree’ is like a complicated mathematical problem—that cannot be solved using algebra.

Instead, the only way to see the full picture is in the form of diagrams. First, you draw yourself. Then, you add your father and mother just above you. If you know your uncle and aunt, draw them beside your parents. And if you still remember your grandparents, add them above your father and mother. Your end result should turn out something like to this:
