“He is going to break my heart. And I will let him.”

I have never really understood the human heart; it is selfish and it is kind. It can be broken… yet it still works.

But the thing that puzzles me most, is that our heart’s the only organ in our body that is willing to bear so much pain…so graciously. I mean, that’s probably one of the reasons why we do stupid stuff in life, even though our brain tells us “NO”. Right?

Well, when I was 13, I saw a different side of love…

“I love you. You Smell Nice”

When I was barely fourteen, my first weird encounter with a boy convinced me that men were from another planet. You see, I didn’t even know the guy. But in the midst of playing Battleship with the other kids, he walked up behind me. He whispered that he liked me.

“It is possible to fall in love with someone of a different race, different culture and different faith. The reality is we do not choose who we’re attracted to or fall in love with. That’s why it’s called “falling”, no rational human being with common sense “falls” knowing he or she might be hurt by the fall.” – Dr. Yangki Christine Akiteng

New York City.

It wasn’t too far from where I lived. And it was only $900 for a round trip without stopping. If I left on Thursday evening, I could reach JFK International Airport slightly after midnight.

So why not?
